Barbara improved her strength, bone density, lowered her medication and improved her muscle tone.
I’m in my 60th year, and for the past 25 years Jane Fonda’s workout video has been my mantra. It wasn’t until I read Dr Miriam Nelson’s book ”Strong Women Stay Young”, that I realised Jane wasn’t really doing it for me. Post menopausal, I now know I need resistance training not 80’s aerobics. I came to BodyTech Gym because I had heard members were all ages (up to 90 years!) and all shapes and sizes, so not intimidating to a first time gym goer like myself. I also liked the fact that I didn’t need fancy gym gear. Initially I joined BodyTech for just 3 months, committing to three supervised circuit workouts a week. The circuit has turned out best for me because I’m never left to my own devices. Being under the watchful eye of a trainer definitely makes me feel safer, and it makes the exercise more enjoyable. In a matter of weeks I noticed an increase in my strength, stamina, and body shape. I’ve also been able to reduce medication( Doctors suggestion) that I take for an imbalance in my Endocrine System. When I joined I was hoping to improve my strength/bone density, the added benefits of resistance training have come as a wonderful surprise. For my heart and soul, I appreciate the fresh flowers, the cleanliness of the whole facility, and my 10 minutes of relaxation time in the sauna and steam rooms after my workouts. I love my new level of fitness, Thanks BodyTech! .
